Gooberstan and Kirbytown

I didn't know they were delivering mail today... usually at our house the delivery man isn't that keen to bring up packages, put mail into the right slot, and other assorted aspects of his job. But today I got 2 cards (that look suspiciously like they should have arrived awhile ago...).

From Stanley & Stella, and Kirby!

Thanks guys, these are awfully cool cards (and ya both look so darned handsome!)

Mom asked how it felt to be getting cards from my buddies and I made this face - I guess that says it all!

4 Airedales of the Apocalypse

Yes it's us - me and my Aire buddies! - taking a leisurely stroll around Silverlake today. Dad made us all climb up 3 huge flights of stone stairs... no problem for us fuzz-lers with our four-wheel drive, but the humans had a little more trouble. We did have some nice backyard time afterward where I maintained the excitement - trying to hump my buddy Kermit - but as soon as I got home I crashed out on my couch.
Zzzzzzzzzzzz

Pardon My Dust!

I'm wondering if my pals could do me a quick favor - I've got mom spending all of her copious free time redoing my other blog - www.toaireisdivine.com/blog - if my buddies could check it out to see if anything screwy is happening I'd really appreciate it!

You can leave comments here if you like, or to leave comments on that blog you have to first choose a username and password (in the META area on the right side, under my Chat-box).

Ok, back to my nap so she doesn't get distracted by my overwhelming cuteness...

The Three Wise Dales

Ok, I'm thinking that this is the BEST Christmas-themed dog picture I've ever seen... and mom is wondering how the hell their mom and/or dad was able to set up the hay , get the baby in the "manger", put in the wrapped gifts, get the headgear just right - and get a GOOD picture!!!!

It says - "When the three wise dales arrived bearing gifts they found the puppy & the glory of the Lord shone all around. The wise dales knew that this truly was the King of the Terriers" THIS IS FANTASTIC!!!

It's from the Leuradales - Noah, Willow, Lucy and Tess of Noah's Bark - thank you guys SO MUCH for the cool card, and mom really wants to know your secret!

A Rose is a Rose...

But this rose is special!

Kirby, thanks so much my friend for this fantastic rose - I’m honored, happy, and now oddly, hungry.

Big Aire Kisses my friend!

I’m gonna pass one along to the Thuglets, Molly & Taffy, Ezzy Rider, & Mojo! (I tried to find friends who haven’t gotten one already - you know that you’re ALL GOLDEN ROSES to me!!!)

Xmas Cards

I wasn't expecting any Christmas cards this year because mom said that she just couldn't do it this time around (not that she didn't want to - it was killing her not to participate this time! - but she just couldn't make it happen)... but this week I got some! I have such cooooooool friends, you all are THE BEST and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy whenever I think about my buddies around the world.

The first one was from Charlie and Opy - isn't this a great picture of them? I was trying to get closer to admire the composition and the portraiture... before mom thwarted my attempt. Ok, I was thinking destruction, but m-o-o-o-m...

You two make such a cool team - sending big Aire Kisses across the ocean to my pals!!!

Then I got one from my Aire buddies, Maggie & Mitch!!! You guys are so super cool, I LOVE the photo of the two of you! I could swear that I smelled you guys on the card, and I thought a little nibble on a corner could confirm my suspicions... but again, mom stepped in to save the day.

Big sloppy Aire Kisses for the beautiful Miss Maggie, and some fun rough-and-tumble (and of course, some Aire kisses too) to the handsome Mitch!!

Sorry for the weird flash on the first photo that's kind of covering Mitch's handsome face...

And then I opened a postcard from the beautiful Miss Faya - HUBBA HUBBA!

Gimme that mom - don't touch my postcard all the way from Switzerland!!!

Faya, I was able to get a little of your essence by chewing on a corner of your photo - and it was heaven. Sending Big Aire Kisses to the prettiest Airegirl in Europe!!!

Love to everydog, everywhere, and thanks for always making me SMILE

Every Dog's Dream

Hey dad, whatcha doin'? OH MY DOG...

Outside in the garden at Mareike's house the Dales rule and now we have our very own fountain... and yes, it's a REAL TOILET.

What's better than drinking nice, fresh moving water from a toilet? Very little. While I have a Drinkwell fountain at home, I do admit to indulging in a little eau de toilet from time to time.

The toilet is really perfectly placed in the garden - near the hammock and in what will soon be the main entertaining area - where the humans will barbecue and enjoy their food and beverages, and now the Dales can too...

I had to be the first to try it out and I must say that once you realize that it's YOUR toilet even though it's not inside - it's incredibly cool. Dad hooked up a pump so that the water keeps moving around - which as any dog knows, is really the key to the whole drinking-out-of-the-toilet-thing anyway.

That's a happy, wet, refreshed beard.

Everybody loves it - I think it's party time!

So dad busted out the Charlie Bears (for those who don't know about these, they're crunchy little training treats that you can get pretty much everywhere - mom cannot figure out why I love these things so much as they seem like they would have very little flavor, they're basically like water crackers, but hey, they're yummy to me and all of my Dale buddies so I say BRING 'EM ON) and we all sat like good dogs, ready to receive our treats. Ok so we variously sat and got up, but we did all stay in the same general area and that should be good enough...

Twins?

Well by now you've all seen my 3 Aire-buddies - Jupie, Kermit & Robin - as we frolic in Mareike's great backyard. Today was gonna be different.

Mom was excited. I had no idea why. I just sat in the back of the Bogie-mobile making sure that she made the correct turns to get us over to Mareike's house. I do this on a regular basis because she takes me soooo many places, and whenever I see us heading in Mareike's general direction I do my very best to make sure that she knows where I wanna go...

We arrived easily (no nose to the neck necessary) at Mareike's house and I ran up the stairs. The Aire greeting was fun and overwhelming as always, but I noticed that Mareike's dales had collars on - and they don't usually wear collars. Hm, something was up. Then I noticed that their leashes were on the kitchen counter. Collars + leashes can mean only one thing...

We're goin' for a walk! A big, ol' 4-Dale walk! Through Silverlake! Look out hipsters, here we come!!!

Lots of people stop in their tracks when they see multiple Dales and I can understand why - there aren't that many of us around (despite our major presence in the doggie blogosphere) and it seems that a lot of people aren't sure exactly what breed we actually are - so they ask silly questions.

Yes, people have asked us when we're all together if we're twins (uh, there are 4 of us), triplets, (uh, there are 4 of us) or if we're related (well yes Mareike's dogs are related but I'm the country cousin). Mostly they just scream and/or smile. Even in their cars, the jaded Angelinos cannot help but smile when 3 people with 4 Dales walk by. Mama was laughing the hardest, and having the most fun. She was walking Kermit and I, and was really impressed at how well we walked together, and Mareike had Robin and Jupie. Dad brought up the rear with the camera (somebody had to!).

Then it was time to jaunt back to Mareike's backyard to check on the progress of the men with the big knives who were getting rid of what was left of that big tree...

We all did our very best to help...

But in the end it's just about being c-u-t-e...
