The Bogie Beetle

Will these errands never cease? I'm amazed at how many times mom and dad have to go out for these little things - off to the food store, off to the post office, off to Target, off to see people - but it bothers me far less when I get to go along.

When dad is in the car I have to ride in the back. I'm not super fond of this (I like my co-pilot seat best) but jump into the back when I see dad coming along for the ride. I'm always sure that mom still needs my navigational skills so I make sure to sit exactly in the center of the back seat, leaning forward in case she needs anything.

Putting the paw on dads arm is also a sure way to get me some attention. Just letting dad know that I'm here should he need me.

Since we were going to be out for awhile and it was pretty hot again today outside, we had to visit the Jack in the Box drive-thru.

Mm, mm, mm. Bacon junior cheeseburger for me!

Adventures in Bone-land

I know it's still technically winter, but today here in Los Angeles is was 80 DEGREES outside. Pretty warm for this terrier. Dad and I went for a loooooooong midday hike and while it was super fun, it was HOT!

When I got home, I tried to rest. The top picture was me doing my best to catch a little sleep. But then mom came home, and my world changed.

She got this bone today at Target, while looking for my favorite rib bones (they were out today, someone at Target should be fired!). It's a rawhide bone with some chicken-y goodness inside.

Mmmmm... can't talk with bone in my mouth....

Dad's home!!!!!!

That was pretty fast, but that's how I like it! Dad went to New Orleans for 2 days and now he's back... we got to pick him up at the airport yesterday (mom says that she's particularly proud of me because Dad's plane was delayed and so we had to wait for a long time outside at the airport and I was very calm and relaxed - well who wouldn't be, I had a captive audience and no other competition - no other dogs around - so it was Aire-port day for me!).

Now he's home and it's Sunday. I'm sure we'll be going out for a hike later but right now we're doing this:

Giving Dad a Sendoff

I just found out this morning that our little morning trip in the car wasn't going to be just for errands... dad is going to New Orleans for two days for work! I knew something was off when we were driving for a loooooong time.

So mom and I took him to the airport. I was sad to see him get out of the car (and not take me!) so I barked my goodbye after giving him a good face lick (which I know he's not that fond of!) and then assumed my copilot seat.

Dad took mom's camera so there will be no photographic update today... but after we left the airport we took the surface streets home (like mom said, I don't wanna be caught in rush hour traffic!) which meant that we passed a Jack in the Box. Since mom wanted some iced tea (the girl is addicted, I tell you) and I was feeling like a burger might be in order, a burger magically appeared. Yes I went through all of the stages - sitting up straight, burger falling magically from sky, opening like placemat, then eating burger first (with bacon - yum...) then bottom bun, then top. Which gave me a nice burst of energy for the rest of the way home and the errands we had to do...

Then mom and I had a niiiiiiiice long walk in the park. It's a little chilly today, but it's a GOOD kind of chilly. Excellent for Dale walking. I didn'Linkt see any dogs that I know, which is unusual, but it was still fun.

So what are we up for tonight mom with dad being out of town? Dinner? Drinks? Clubbing? Cruising Sunset without panties and no lights on in the car?

Just another day in LA...

Mom on Crack

Ok, last night mom put up my Hollywood video - with no sound. Hm. Apparently YouTube was taking it's own sweet time approving my video, so mom got distracted and never checked to see that all was well.

Well...

Here is the version WITH SOUND. Thanks for bringing us into the 21st century mom!

Bogart in Hollywood

Today, in anticipation of the most important awards of the year - The FIDOs - I dragged mom and dad to the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood to soak up a little adoration and get into the award spirit.

We walked all along Hollywood Boulevard in front of the theatre where all of the stars of that “other” awards show will be tomorrow. In front of Mann’s Chinese Theatre, all along the street, lots of commotion and lots of people.

Including Elvis.

And Frankenstein.

And Chewbacca.

I didn’t see anyone I recognized (guess they’re all getting fluffed and folded today) but I did have a star sighting of a sort - I saw Angelyne’s pink corvette (if you know anything about Los Angeles, you’ll know that she is an ICON) and posed with that. No Angelyne, but this was pretty close.

I Heart Mom

It's been a little chilly here for the last few days, today we even are getting some rain (yes I realize this doesn't sound terribly remarkable for those buried under several feet of snow, but for Los Angeles this is BIG NEWS - they're actually calling it STORM WATCH).

So we've been snuggling a lot near the space heater. My mom Lulu is a pretty crazy gal and I know that I blame her for a lot of stuff, but I do have to say that I love her an awful lot... she's almost as crazy as I am, and almost as cute. She's got potential!

She does try to kiss me a little too often - I have to pretend that I don't love this so that I don't encourage her too much (or spoil her) but inside I really, really, really love my mom!!!

Ah... Another Bath

I was just beginning to think that I might be getting a little.... musky. Not that this is a bad thing, the ladies seem to love it so who am I to complain...

So today I got dragged into the shower stall with dad by the evil mom. After a thorough scrubbing (apparently it took two full shampoos to de-stench me) and a few too many bucket rinsings, I was pronounced clean. I ran throughout the apartment proclaiming my newfound cleanliness, and rubbing against everything I could find. The "Aire Dry".

I went to show Kafka, the orange tabby, how clean I was and the look in his eye said it all... so I just gave him a big head kiss and went back to my fluff-and-fold.
