Mom on Crack

Ok, last night mom put up my Hollywood video - with no sound. Hm. Apparently YouTube was taking it's own sweet time approving my video, so mom got distracted and never checked to see that all was well.

Well...

Here is the version WITH SOUND. Thanks for bringing us into the 21st century mom!

Bogart in Hollywood

Today, in anticipation of the most important awards of the year - The FIDOs - I dragged mom and dad to the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood to soak up a little adoration and get into the award spirit.

We walked all along Hollywood Boulevard in front of the theatre where all of the stars of that “other” awards show will be tomorrow. In front of Mann’s Chinese Theatre, all along the street, lots of commotion and lots of people.

Including Elvis.

And Frankenstein.

And Chewbacca.

I didn’t see anyone I recognized (guess they’re all getting fluffed and folded today) but I did have a star sighting of a sort - I saw Angelyne’s pink corvette (if you know anything about Los Angeles, you’ll know that she is an ICON) and posed with that. No Angelyne, but this was pretty close.

I Heart Mom

It's been a little chilly here for the last few days, today we even are getting some rain (yes I realize this doesn't sound terribly remarkable for those buried under several feet of snow, but for Los Angeles this is BIG NEWS - they're actually calling it STORM WATCH).

So we've been snuggling a lot near the space heater. My mom Lulu is a pretty crazy gal and I know that I blame her for a lot of stuff, but I do have to say that I love her an awful lot... she's almost as crazy as I am, and almost as cute. She's got potential!

She does try to kiss me a little too often - I have to pretend that I don't love this so that I don't encourage her too much (or spoil her) but inside I really, really, really love my mom!!!

Ah... Another Bath

I was just beginning to think that I might be getting a little.... musky. Not that this is a bad thing, the ladies seem to love it so who am I to complain...

So today I got dragged into the shower stall with dad by the evil mom. After a thorough scrubbing (apparently it took two full shampoos to de-stench me) and a few too many bucket rinsings, I was pronounced clean. I ran throughout the apartment proclaiming my newfound cleanliness, and rubbing against everything I could find. The "Aire Dry".

I went to show Kafka, the orange tabby, how clean I was and the look in his eye said it all... so I just gave him a big head kiss and went back to my fluff-and-fold.

Viva Italia!

I've just tasted something so wonderful, so unusual, and so fun that I just had to share.

Mom was eating some spaghetti (just a little butter and some fresh parmesan cheese) and I was watching, curious as to exactly what it was. So she offered me a fork-full, apparently expecting that I would show little to no interest in it. Well she was WRONG. Not only did I show interest, but I ate the entire thing!

I know the photos look a bit SCARY - I thought so too once I saw them - but it's only because it's night time here. I have to say that I'm getting quite the education this week on human eating implements - the other day it was chopsticks (with my shabu shabu) and today it's a fork. But indeed, I always get the food so however the humans want to serve it to me, well that's just fine...

Gung Hay Fat Choy!

I'm a LUCKY dog... I got to celebrate Chinese New Year with my girl Heidi!!! Her mom is from China, so she made a gigantic shabu-shabu dinner for some friends and we all got some...

I've never had such thinly-sliced meat before - at first I wasn't sure if I ate a piece or not (mom said I actually inhaled it without chewing!) so of course I had to have a second piece. And a bit of what Heidi was eating.

We had fun running around while the humans were talking and laughing. I kept stealing Heidi's stuffed horse and teasing her with it. That's a particularly fun game because she runs with me all around the house and then right through the dog door to the outside... I've got a good system going, an excellent circle that I run with her running after me. Then we do a little bitey-face - I try to bite her cheeks and she tries to bite my goatee - and then we make cute faces for the humans for some more shabu-shabu. No pictures because it was dark and apparently mom isn't all that great in photographing gorgeous dogs in the dark.

Mmmmmmm... Happy New Year everyone!!!!

Bogie's Valentines

I am overwhelmed that all of the girls that I asked to be my Valentine have said YES!!! You ladies have warmed my heart (and other areas).

Miss Sunshade, this pinup photo of you above kept me awake all night, tossing and turning on my humpy pillow. I'm still not entirely sure why, but I can say that I REALLY LIKE IT. I'm sooooo happy we are Valentines and hope you receive your present soon!

Miss Faya, my Euro-babe, I loved the video of you enjoying my present and wish it could be me there that you are licking so delicately.

Miss Maggie you made me so happy when you said yes to being my Valentine! We MUST be amazing dogs as our moms think exactly alike!

Miss Snickers - my only non-Airedale Valentine this year - you looked soooooo lovely as you tore open my package, I was so happy!!!!!

And Miss Lillie - you're such a pretty girl, I'm so happy that you are my Valentine too!!!!

Ah Miss Sunshade, I cannot wait to share a meal with you sometime! You're truly Perfection!!!

I am THE LUCKIEST DOG IN THE WHOLE WORLD to have these great ladies in my life. THANK YOU LADIES!!!!!!

Valentines Day

First, a big wet sloppy kiss (complete with wet stringy beard) to all of my special Valentines! And then another one to all of my boy dog friends (because I'm equal opportunity)!

The picture above is Kafka the tabby and Behemoth the grey spotty guy, two of the cats that share my home. Kafka is lying on his heart-shaped pillow (did you notice that he's managed to get all 3 pillows into his bed? one of those used to be mine....). Appropriate for Valentines Day, I thought.

So back to the things that make the heart go pitter patter. Mom and dad took me out to see my very FAVORITE pals in the entire world, those fabulous Airedales, Robin, Kermit and Jupie! I had a special present for Jupie (she's the only girl) that I just had to give her in person... some of my other Valentines have already received theirs, this was the only one I got to "paw-deliver".

I always have a HUGE amount of fun running around with the other Dales and today was no exception.

Since it was Valentine's Day, and I am a young unneutered male, my thoughts turned almost immediately to l-o-v-e... and that meant Jupie.

Hey, I'll try to hump the boys too but they're not quite as tolerant as Jupie is, and they don't smell as nice.

So I worked my magic on her and she must have known that it was Valentines Day as well for she actually let me get some good humping in before kicking me off and running away. Heaven!

Mom and Dad really LOVE the Dales too at Mareike's house - it's always fun for them to talk with her and tell stories while I'm running around humping everything in sight.

They're really my very BEST BUDDIES in the whole world, and I always have a SUPER GREAT time playing with them.

Nice clean teeth from regular bone eating - I aspire to this, as well as the lush, full beard.

After a lot of time running around in the sunny afternoon, it was time to go home. Unfortunately I really didn't want to go yet, but since I was wearing my green adventure harness, it was easy for mom and dad to "persuade" me that we had to leave. Not my choice, Mareike! I'd stay and play with your dogs ALL THE TIME if my evil mom and dad would let me...

So I arrived home and got the mail, and what do I see first.... it's a Valentine from Snickers!!!! I was soooooo excited, I tore it open immediately and wanted to pose with it. Thank you Miss Snickers, you gorgeous WFT, you, and YES I WILL BE YOUR VALENTINE!!!

So much fun... gotta go have a power nap now. I hear those are good for humans...

Bogie's Babes

It was a TOUGH decision for me to pick my Valentines this year… mom gave me kind of a limit (ok, lets just say that there were going to be a LOT more packages going out, and since I didn’t become rich and famous and start bringing home the bacon - mmm, bacon - I had to limit myself).

So this year my special gals are:

Miss Sunshade the Superdale

Miss Maggie

Miss Lillie

Miss Faya

Miss Snickers

I sent my packages this past week - I hope you get ‘em soon! My apologies if they arrive after the big day (of course that’s mom’s fault).

But even tho I had to choose only a few, I want everyone to know that I LOVE ALL OF THE DOG BLOGGING LADIES, and will happily be the Valentine of anyone who asks.

So to my Special Ladies, WILL YOU BE MY VALENTINE?

Bogart

To Miss Sunshade, My Valentine

To my beautiful dreamgirl,

Today I received your Valentine's Day card and my heart started thumping. The fact that you had pawsonally signed it got me so excited...

I know I'm not much of a poet or anything, but I did send off a little something to you as well... I hope you receive it soon and that you'll be my Valentine!

After I opened your card, dad gave me a piece of roast beef - supposedly for us to "share". So first I bit off half, saving half for you, then it fell on my nose so I had to eat the whole thing. I know you would understand.

Merrier for a Terrier

Awwww... this little guy was born without ears (they're calling him Weasel). They call him a Border Terrier cross in the article but he looks an awful lot like an Airedale or Welshie to me... they say that he's fine and most likely has functioning ears under a flap of skin, and they may operate to help him hear. He's awfully cute!

I found his story HERE

Light My Fire

Some fun today in Griffith Park - after being locked in the car while mom and dad checked out India Sweets & Spices in Los Feliz (which they really really liked) and getting cranky about it, we got to take a nice hike in Griffith Park which is close by.

Not terrifically exciting until I found a verrrrry big stick that made me feel like a MAN.

Heidi's Back!

Whatta surprise!

Dad took me over to KCs house - I thought we were just gonna water the back yard like we've been doing for the last month - boy was I surprised when Heidi came out the front door!!!

I haven't seen her for about a month now, and she immediately noticed that I wasn't keeping up my workouts. So we went out for a hike and it was great to see her again!

After the hike mom took me to The Grove, the outdoor shopping center in LA. We walked around for awhile and were gonna stop at one of our favorite lunch places, the Corner Bakery, but it was closed!!! No signs, nothing inside. Oh well, I guess we have to go over to Johnny Rockets - we can sit outside for full Airedale admiration.

On the way we had to pass Three Dog Bakery, and mom picked up a little snack for me... which I never like fresh from the bakery. They're cold and I hate that so even though I'm excited by the bag, I'm not into the treat. Mom got a grilled cheese when we sat down and offered me the treat. I sniffed it but it still was too cold.

So Heidi I did keep up my diet - no pup cake and just some water. I'm glad you're back!!!

Bogart
