Happy Howl-o-Ween

Hope you all have a great holiday - no costume for me this year (dad says I'll be embarrassed, mom keeps trying to figure out ways to make it work, I just say that I'm in POODLE costume), but this is an awfully fun photo that mom found today:

Pretty darned creative.

RIP Heidi

Today Heidi - my best Boxer friend and pawsonal trainer - went to the great pawsonal training facility in the sky. We're all very sad - she was only 2 years old - but happy that she's not in pain and that she didn't suffer for a long time with the cancer.

So if ya see a new Boxer-shaped star in the sky tonight, say hi to Heidi for me.

Airedale Cafe

While there are still fires all around SoCal, in the area that I live it's just really, really smoky. Lots of what looks like fog but it pretty disgusting to breathe in. We wanted to go out today for a nice long walky but wound up doing a short one through Pasadena.

Of course the first stop is the Lovebirds Cafe - a prime Aire-dmiration spot indeed. Look at the silliness I was forced to endure - our order was number 55 so dad put the table tag on my collar and I walked around this way, all while the humans were giggling. Ha ha, that's soooo funny...

On our way home we got stuck in some nasty traffic as they're ripping up Arroyo Parkway... so we swung into Petco (my vote) to pick up some of that tasty Deli Fresh roll.

Since I got those free ones I've been hooked - I like to have a slice for breakfast. We needed more so off we went through the store.

Here's the refrigerated case where the most-excellent Deli Fresh rolls are kept. Notice how I help dad.

On the way back I noticed some bones that would be a lot of fun to chomp on during the long hours in the daytime when mom is at her supposed "work"-thing. I tried it out for size and it seemed perfect, but since dad didn't carry it away with us I'll have to assume that he will get one for me next time.

Then my most favoritest place - the cat food palette. Yes dogs, I am a true aficionado of the wet cat food. Can't explain it other than that I grew up with 4 kitties and their food always seemed (and smelled) tastier than my own. In fact, until dad started making food for me sometimes cat food was the only thing I'd eat. Go figure.

Back in traffic I noticed this little guy - he seemed to be enjoying himself even tho my mom thought he was ready to jump out at any moment. Hope they had him on a leash!

Look at how hazy it is - usually it's crystal-clear with blue skies - that's all of the crap that's currently coating the Bogie-mobile. Of course mom is using that as an excuse as well - so she doesn't have to wash the Bogie-mobile. Lazy mom.

Once home I craved a little time in the park. I thought that maybe I'd have to poop so I gave mom the begging eyes and we had a little run. Some stick-work, some pine-cone-kicking, but not for too long as we were both coughing a bit. So back inside we went.

All in all, still fun despite the not being able to breathe bit.

SoCal Fire Info for People With Pets

Thanks to everyone who has been asking... I'm not in any of the fire areas of Los Angeles, so everyone here is OK.

The Airechicks just sent me this great info for anyone who IS in those areas, thought I'd pass it along:

Lets Dance

Argh, I'm a bit late in posting this but mom is using that silly "work" excuse again (I don't see her much during the daytime these days, but s-t-i-l-l...)...

Yep it was Sunday, so that means it's DALE DAY!

We started the festivities out with a trip to Good Microbrew with my best buddy Mareike - she of the many falling pieces of cheeseburger (no vegetables please!) and my many attempts to get some of dad's frosty beer.

Thanks for the burger Mareike!!!

Airedale Day

Then it was time to walk over and spend a few hours with my buddies Jupie, Robin and Kermit... especially Kermit. As you may recall, he's my ever-accomodating hump buddy who lets me get my freak on and never judges me.

Spot the troublemaker!!!

The End.

The Artist

The park behind our house where I have most of my walkies has been having a little work done. That's a good thing, because there are a LOT of dead trees and weird foliage that needs to get cleared out. Several weeks ago, a team cut down a few trees and just let them roll - and here they have sat ever since. Notice the lovely CAUTION tape that they put up - I'm sure that this kept people away (not! the trees got tagged with graffiti). Here I am inspecting it to add my own personal touch.

Everything looks awfully green doesn't it? Well, this particular patch of green isn't from the little, tiny bit of rain that we had recently, it's from a broken water pipe in the park. It was bubbling for a few weeks, occasionally it would get fixed, but then it would be broken again. We think it was from horses walking in the park, but it could also be vandalism. Anyway it makes a lovely green patch...

Aw shucks mom, can't a boy have a little privacy?

Tonight we had a visitor that I really like - the artist, Christof Kohlhoffer! He's a friend of mom and dad's and since he makes mom laugh like a hyena, I think he's pretty cool too. We all had dinner then lots of talk about how cute I am. Good times.

Sausages

Tonight mom brought home a HUGE tin from work - what could it possibly be? It smelled awfully tempting, and she was having trouble carrying it by herself. I wanted to help her open it, but I had to sit like a good boy while dad got to do the honors...

SAUSAGES!!!

Apparently they had an Oktoberfest celebration at the place she disappears to for about 40 hours every week (she calls it "work", I call it neglect) and there were a LOT of sausies left over because the silly people didn't know what they were missing! So my dutiful vegetarian mom went in and scooped up about 30 sausages, sauerkraut, and red cabbage and brought them home to ME!!!

Lets just say that while I'm not sure about all of the cabbage stuff, the sausages were MM-MM-Good...

Overwhelming Boxer Cuteness

A day chock-full of Boxer-y goodness... today I got to see my girl Heidi and the two new Boxer pups that will be sharing her house... they are way too cute for words. They have a funny smell (mom calls it "new puppy smell" and apparently I stunk like this too when I was a baby) but I found them interesting. I was trying to play with Heidi but she didn't feel like playing today - she was very tired and just wanted to rest on her couch.

This is Dee-Dee, the girl pup. She looks a LOT like her Aunt Heidi... she has on the pink harness in the photos (cause, well, she's a GIRL)

This is Fritz, the boy (notice the BLUE harness)... he has really cool stripes and white mittens on his paws...

Heidi seems tired but happy. She wagged her sweet little stump when I came in, and I was really happy to see her. I was a little confused as to why she didn't want to run outside with me, but I could tell that she wasn't feeling that well so it was ok.

Aren't the little ones adorable? Mom took some video, she's going to put that together soon - it's even cuter if that's possible...

Bogart
