Sandy, Sandy, Sandy

Oh, Sandy.   You scared all but the mightiest away here in Center City.

But I am intrepid, if nothing else.  Perhaps a little swashbuckling.  Aw hell, I just really like to poop in the park and do not mind getting wet, so LETS GO

I thought I would swing by my usual hangouts, but horror of horrors, THE DOG STORE IS CLOSED

Sandy, HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?

I come here almost every day for a treat and some window shopping.  They are really nice to me and know me by name.  But today, this.

Really, Sandy?  Such an indignity?  HOW COULD YOU?

STAY SAFE EVERYONE!

Wood-n't You Like To Know

Cool, right?

Caught my eye too - I haven't seen this before and I walk through here (that is, I poop here) on a semi-regular basis.  It's a new mural on the side of The Center for Art in Wood.  Quite intriguing...

I found myself wanting to check out all of the objects that I could see, and would normally want to chomp on, but was unable to.  And I approve of the black-and-tan color scheme.

Something like this - now, it should be available for chomping.  But no.  It just sits there, taunting me.  Looks like a dog toy and everything.  And lets not forget that STICKS ARE MADE FROM WOOD, so I know of what I speak.

Austrian Airedale Pride

I was very inspired by the supersonic skydive of Felix Baumgartner today. Many of you may remember that my dad was from Austria so today I was wearing my AUSTRIA t-shirt.

You've gotta love crazy Felix, or at least give him respect. THAT WAS SUPER BADASS

Woo-hoo! GO AUSTRIA!

Evanger's Everywhere!

The fine folks at Evanger's have sent us an amazing box chock full of dog and cat food for us to try. Mama opened the box, we got ready for the evening walkie, and left it on the floor.

Now, I'm not pointing fingers (mainly because I don't have any), but someone thought it would be a good idea to help himself to some of the booty.

It was interesting enough apparently to rip open in a wild feeding frenzy, but yet unusual enough to not entirely consume and leave for me to vacuum up when I returned from my walkie. (I don't care that it was cat food, it was delicious). So paws up for the Meat Lover's Medley with Rabbit!

This is what we will be tasting this week. Note the fine array of both canine and feline foods and treats.

I'm looking forward to taste-testing these, but I will wait until they are opened properly.

Perhaps now?

Ahem, PERHAPS NOW???

Rocking the Red Carpet

Look out world, HERE I COME

I have never met a red carpet I didn't like.  Doesn't matter if there is something going on or if there is nothing going on.  I'm gonna work that carpet like nobody's business.

Puparazzi?  Give 'em the shot they're looking for.

Go ahead, get those shots.  It is me.  I realize that you don't see a handsome Dale just every day.

Questions?  I'll answer your questions.  The answers are always - No, No, and Yes (when there is delicious food involved).

Yes, treats do help to get the shot you're looking for.

Is it kind of me to get the red carpet ready for whatever event will be happening later?  You betcha.  I wildly entertained a group of utility workers while I did my schtick.  And happy utility workers are a good thing, right Philadelphia?

OH YEAH

I'm just a simple Dale, doing my part for the city I live in.

And lookin' damn good while doing it.  That's who I am, and what I do.

The First Real Day of Fall

Ah, the pleasures of autumn. Wind lightly ruffling through the fuzz, humidity on the downward slide, just enough warmth to require a sweater, a full coat of airefuzz, or some brisk walking.

When faced with a choice, a brisk walkie does it every time. Today I chose both brisk-ness and distance, and took mama all the way to the Schuykill river. No reason not to, it's a bee-oo-ti-ful day.

See? All of that fine natural light (you know, the big glowing ball in the sky that you habitually hide from, mama) makes for some fine Airedale photos.

Majestic posing, to be sure.

Oh how happy I am to be panting because of my nice long walk rather than because of the oppressive heat and humidity. It is truly a welcome change.

And allows me to lay in wait in case any delicious cookies fall my way.

Come on mama, spare a cookie or two. DOG NEEDS ENERGY

While I am waiting for you to figure out how to get those fine cookies out of your bag, I shall amuse myself by eating various flowers, sticks, and oh anything else I can find here.

And you don't want that, now do you?

Perhaps I could indulge in an entire park lunch - I am sure there must be some discarded chicken bones around here somewhere.

Or something else dangerous.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Keep the cookies comin'!

COOKIES COOKIES COOKIES

See? All gone. NEED MORE COOKIES

And now it's really time to get moving again. No more sitting for you. No need to worry, just give me the Flexi and I'll drive.

This is my standard "yes I am ignoring you, come on damnit I want to walk now" pose.

It's patented, but all of you doggies feel free to use it anytime you wish. It works.

The Aire Force - Get Out the Vote!

This is the last week - and the MOST important time.  Forget the voting for President (for the moment), and get down to the real business of voting - for SOAR (Starting Over Airedale Rescue)!

You can click on each link to place your votes daily - in the search box, just type "airedale" and the state is MI.  SOAR will come up, click and type in the Captcha and let your voice be heard!  We have won thousands of dollars for Airedale Rescue groups all around the country, no reason to break our winning streak!

Hit the Road with... Bogart!

Weather.com chose one of my fine photos from Mt. Tabor in Portland to illustrate their Hit the Road with Rover series.  Well chosen, and thanks!
