Woo-hoo! I'm going up into the mountains today!!!
We're heading to Zigzag - and we're going to walk in the mountains of the Mt. Hood National Forest!
See, dad and I are REAL mountain men - we're prepared with our rucksack filled with supplies just in case...
Now it's time to head up - we hope to get all the way to Ramona Falls (about 4.4 miles)
Wait a minute... WHAT IS THIS WHITE STUFF? It's COLD and it's WET and it's WHITE...
Yes folks, this is Bogart's First Snow. The only snow I've ever seen was fake snow made on the street in Pasadena, I've never been in anything real before.
This is the river - it doesn't seem like much from this vantage point but that's deceiving...
I SMELL SOMETHING - there were ANIMALS here!!!!!!!! (note to Bogart - yep, there was deer poop everywhere)
There was still a LOT of snow, and walking wasn't easy for the humans who only have their inferior 2-wheel drive... I however have canine 4-wheel drive so for me it was no problemo.
Look at this giant tree! It made mom and me look TINY!!!
I even found a great stick - woo-hoo!!
It was a great walk, I can't wait to do it again! I hear that next time there probably won't be any snow so the walking will be easier - and of course, it will be easier to see all of the sticks!!!
Back in dad's car, time to drive home. These longish drives relax me...
One more snout full of fresh mountain air...
Hey wait, you mean I HAVE TO SIT IN THE CAR WHILE YOU TWO GO EAT???
Ah it's ok. I'm kinda tired anyway...
Love,
Bogart

Bogart, your first snow, how cool! I'm so happy you finally got to experience the wonderful white stuff. (hey, when you pee on it, it turns yellow!!!) Your hike looked super cool. Sure looks like you are all enjoying Portland. Too bad you had to stay in the car, hope the parent brought you some foodables.
Your pal,
Kirby
Hey, Bogart!
Very cool post, and you rounded it out with a FABulous photo of your juicy schnoz. (My girl thanks you once again for making her day. She LOVES you AND your schnoz, man!)
I'm stinkin' excited that you finally got your paws on some real snow! That's some fun stuff, let me tell you. I've always known you were a mountain man, and now you have the photos of the rucksack to prove it.
Make sure that next time you encounter the deer poo that you take a nice big mouthful of it just before you kiss you dad. He'll LOVE it.
Goober love & hiking smooches,
Stanley
G'day Bogie
Did you or your pinkies slip on that snow. It looks a bit hard and icy.
