Thanks friends for all of your good wishes for my speedy recovery from the evil foxtail. Those little suckers are EVIL!
My new snazzy purple paw and I had some exploring to do today. There is an area here in the Pearl District that is almost a street, except that it does not have cars. It has sidewalks. And until recently it also had a lot of grass. Grass that my fellow canines and I would use as a public lavatory. And when a large area is just grass, well, sometimes our mighty pee can make things look a little ugly.
So they've dug out all of the brown grass and put in plants. I have to say that I heartily approve. These are MUCH more fun to pee on.
And of course all of the new smells. The leaves of these plants hold in the scent of canine much better than that grass ever could.
I shall give Kearney Street my Seal of Approval:
Love,
Bogart

bogart...good to see you are recovering... surgery doesn't keep a good dale down. i had a "hole in my paw" a while back and remember that feeling and it was the same paw!!! you will heal fast -- watch out for rainy days though..the humomm "bagged the paw"....looked pretty weird...but worked.
rest..relax...chew a few cones.

Dear Bogart, We were very upset to read you had to go to the vet to have the ##*&^# foxtail removed. So glad you seemed to have popped back & what a lovely purple paw you now have! Hope you stay out of those mean foxtails now.
We both got a similar, barbed weed in our ears last summer and had to be knocked out to have them removed. Poor Hootie's was infected and he has a hearing loss because of it. Over here in N.Idaho they call it "cheat grass", but it's still the same nasty stuff as foxtails. Ugh. Once again we have been bringing them inside on our hair---the momma has to check us out. Hope she doesn't miss any again. We have lots of pinecones here, so if you decide to visit we'll share with you!
