Weekend Warrior

Last night I got a bath. I'm feeling fresh and frisky now that I've lost some of my funk. It's sunny and warm outside with no chance of rain... Gotta go! A lovely morning walkie by the river, then it's time to have a volcano walkie.

Lulu here. This is not Bogart's paw, it's mine. When we arrived at Mt. Tabor, Bogart stopped to chomp on some grass and I looked down and saw this ladybug. It was sort of following me. So I reached down and offered it my finger, to which it decided to explore.

Why did a ladybug catch my eye? The day after Klaus passed away, there was a ladybug at my door. I studied it for awhile (I was particularly slow-moving at that point) and watched it walk close to me, walk around my hand, then fly away. I have had several more encounters with friendly ladybugs since then. While I would never say that Klaus was in any way related to the ladybugs (he would HATE that) it does kind of warm my heart a little when I see one and think of him.

This ladybug, however, had me in tears. It found Klaus' wedding ring (which I wear on my middle finger, just below his big silver one) and stayed there. For a long time.

And then flew away.

Bogart here - yes, mama was all teary-eyed watching a ladybug, I was busy taking care of business.

Such a pretty day on the volcano, not too many people, not too hot.

Salad everywhere! Making me hungry...

Mama was thinking gardenburger, I was thinking fries.

I can wait. I know she won't eat every one of those delicious fries without allowing a few to either drop or be placed directly into my waiting mouth.

Success!!!

Oh yeah... Awesome fries and I have to assume that the gardenburger was tasty (I just cannot bring myself to care).

Mama had something profound to say about this photo that she felt compelled to take... but she forgot.

Enjoy the long weekend if you have one!

Love,

Bogart

Bogart and Mama,
We just wanted to let you know that we have missed you. We have not been ignoring you at all. We have had a sad crisis in our life but we do come by and check on the two of you. My mama says that crying is good. So Bogie make sure you like those tears off her face, better yet just keep licking her face. I miss my mama and wish I could do it. However, she is with my mama Apache and she assures me she is taking care of my mommie! Stay strong our friends. We love you and miss you!!

Lulu,

My Mom used to see a little wren every morning which she decided was a messenger from Heaven, telling her that Dad was fine and keeping an eye on her. The day of her memorial service, I saw a wren tapping on a window in the church, high above the altar. I haven't seen her "messenger" since she died, but I've been visited four days in a row by a pair of bluebirds who tapped on three different windows in the house. Once they saw me, they'd stop tapping and look me over, then fly to a window looking into another room.

Our messengers take all sorts of forms, but their message is the same...All is well, we're looking over you.

Love,

Petey's Mom

Lu-lu and Bogart ~
You have touched my heart and every time I visit I learn something new about you both. I recently heard a saying that I just love and it reminds me of you guys...

Do not measure your life by the number of breaths that you take but by the number of moments that take your breath away....

Lots of hugs and aireprayers for you both....Bogart keep wearing your "Bogie-ness" like a badge of honor...all dales could learn a thing or two from your adventuresome spirit! Lu-lu, you are grace personified....a beautiful and wonder filled woman who paints the pictures of her life through the eyes of her Dale....very loving. You guys ROCK! Mwah!

Hi Bogie & Bogie's Mamma...

Randi's mom here..Messangers are amazing, aren't they? My mom had a messanger in the form of a bird when my stepdad died...another good friend had a bird that clung to the screen door of her patio until she came outside, stuck out her finger & the bird hopped on her finger & stared at her...turns out that was a "mourning bird" which one of her birdwatching friends indentified it as when she described it...when our dog Dublin passed, about a week later, we were visited by a hummingbird - that would just hover around our window...Dublin would not have like this since our entire backyard was his "no fly zone" for birdies & he scared them all away..but it makes sense, cuz if he was going to come back as a bird, it would be a fast one like a hummingbird! ...Klaus is still all around you & Bogie...not in physical presence, but resting peacfully inside your heart with little reminders like ladybugs!

Love & Licks,
Randi & her mom
