Vive L'Airedale!

Celebration time! While it's not officially Bastille Day until Monday, here in Portland they were having a festival today so you know me and dog-friendly festivals... I looked around the house for something french-y to wear but alas, didn't have anything. So I put on my spiffy Swiss bandana (from the lovely Faya) and off we went in the Bog-cedes.

There were several bakeries, some live music, the Oregon Humane Society (most important to me, of course, better than the bakeries...), and lots and lot of kiddos.

There is a big fountain right in the center of the park area, so lots of kids come here to run in the water and cool down. Now you know that I'm not a water-lovin' dog, and little kids make me a little nervous sometimes, so we looked around for other things to see...

Check out the cool wheels! Wouldn't mom and I look super spiffy in this?

I couldn't find that much else that really interested me. Then again, it was pretty darned hot out there today. Maybe it's time to move on to somewhere with tasty beverages...

Time to try new places. We found the Rogue Brewpub and sat ourselves down. Lunchtime!

Notice the all-too-common body language coming from dad. Yes indeed, we seem to have found a place with minimal-to-lousy service yet again. Why do they always ignore us? Keep us waiting for menus, drinks, food, the check, and can you spare even a tiny bowl of water for the panting dog???

I put on my cute face and everything. HOW COULD THIS NOT WORK???

Alas, we probably won't be eat here again. The humans thought the food and the beer was ok, but the service was slow and lousy. And of course there is that little issue of no water bowls for all of the dogs outside (especially the handsome Airedale)...

So lets walk around a little... I hear there is something going on in Pioneer Square today dad...

It's the Keen Stand Festival. Looks like we missed most of the excitement.

But ya know what? These bricks are HOT! I'm doing my Mexican jumping bean impersonation here...

So it's back to the Bog-cedes for us, and my sensitive pawsies. On the way out mom spied this:

OF COURSE we relish the dog mom, I know you love me!!! Oh wait, that's a different kind of dog they're talking about...

Keep cool!

Love,

Bogart

Love that red car, Bogie! You'd look great in it with your mom and the wheel and your head out the window with your ears flyin'!
Too bad about the lousy service at the BrewPub. It looked like a neat spot!

Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
