Stay... Out of the Apartment

Another white-hot day in Pasadena. It was hot enough today that I was doing my Mexican-jumping-bean dance at streetcorners whenever mama and I had to wait for a light to change - since I'm not wearing shoes, it's gets kind of toasty on the pads. It's still always fun to walk around tho, and get away from all of the looming moving boxes in my apartment. Not too much space there right now for a majestic Dale such as I, so I do like to go out as much as possible.

This past week that meant I spent my days at Dale Day Care - aka, Mareike's house - and there is truly no better place to be. Rather than being cooped up in the apartment, before she goes to work mama drops me off at Dale Day Care and then she picks me up on her lunch hour. So I get some time with my buddies and to check messages at my office, then some relaxation time until she arrives home at night. Not too shabby.

During our walk back to the Bogie-mobile, I met these two lovely ladies from Australia - and got an excellent, three-person massage while the Airedmiration flowed. They were so sweet! Mama and I stayed to talk with them for awhile on the street, so long that they lost the friends they were originally walking with! What can I say, I have that effect on people...

They were so cool - hope you enjoyed your time in SoCal ladies!

It's a Big Day!

I'm gonna scream it from the rooftops (well, at least from the sidewalk in Pasadena)... Mom just got a job in PORTLAND!!! She didn't wanna tell me before she knew that it was for sure (so THAT'S why she disappeared for a few days...), but now she's SUPER EXCITED and told me that we're gonna move soon!

So naturally we had to have a celebratory mother-son sandwich at Lovebirds.

Then of course a nice, long walk through Old Town Pasadena.

It's a hot day here in Los Angeles, and I know where all of the cool fountains are.

This way mom...

Yes, I hop right in and get me some refreshing, beard-soaking water. While the day already was exciting enough, after our walk we drove right over to see THE AIREDALES!!!

We brought them some treats to try out - something new that Dad cooked up - and they're always keen to give our new treats a try, so it was Mom's turn to conduct the scientific testing...

Success! The Dales LOVED 'em!!!

Mom, Dad and Mareike disappeared for awhile, then came back to take me home. I was pretty tired from all of the excitement, until...

Oooh... burger. That smells like MAREIKE'S burger, the kind that falls to the floor when we go to the Good Microbrew...

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... THANKS MAREIKE!

TGIF

Woo-hoo! Friday and the living is easy. Mom is off on Fridays, so that means it's time to get her a sandwich from the Lovebirds Cafe in Pasadena!

I've never had ice cream before. I hear all about it watching all of my buddies on their blogs and I've been meaning to try some. Today Dad got himself a Carvel soft serve and it was my lucky day.

A fingerful of swirl was to be mine.

But you know what? I didn't like it!!! I let it fall to the ground and quickly lost interest. All I can say in my defense is that I'm a really picky dog, mom always says that I eat pretty much nothing that a "normal" dog eats, so maybe this is why I didn't care for the soft serve. Not that I'm not willing to give it another try at some point in the near future...

In Pasadena, hidden away in a shopping area off of Lake Avenue there is this red London telephone box that mom has been trying to get me to pose with. Batteries always conspired against it, but today the photo op was MINE.

I thought I'd check it out inside - lots of, ahem, interesting smells in there, but before I could add some of my own Dad pulled me along. Oh well.

Ah nature. The lovely wilderness that is Mareike's back yard. I keep a collection of my favorite sticks there for whenever I visit, and luckily her Dales don't seem to mind.

Don't mess with my sticks, ok?

Of course we brought some treats for the Dales, today it was dried yam and sweet potatoes.

Jupie tried her best to make sure that the bag was empty (so that we wouldn't waste any, you see). She's a SMART girl :)

Kermit got into the act too - making sure that no stray pieces remained. Good. Clean. Bag.

Yet another fun day at Mareike's. It's good to be me!

Crazy Little Thing Called...

W-O-R-K.

Yes, whenever mama has to go to that place she calls WORK (ok that's an affectionate term, sometimes she uses other words that I won't repeat here...) she neglects my blog. And January was going sooo well, we posted almost every single day and then... nada.

It's not that I haven't been up to my usual hijinks, in fact it was a very fun week. But the evil camera has not cooperated (as usual), so without pictures mama gets lazy. I've been told that a trip to the camera store to get a super-duper-massive battery is in order, but with all of this work-ing she's been doing, well, who knows?

At least I had a little mother-son time with her this afternoon - just enough time for a long walkie in Pasadena. Again, not many pictures to share but at least she got some cute ones of me in the Bogie-mobile (so all is not lost).

Cafe in the Rain

Today was a little rainy, a little grey, a little windy. Since mom and I both love it when we have real weather here in Los Angeles (especially some rain!!!) we piled into the Bogie-mobile and decided to have a little mother-son day walking around in Pasadena.

We had a niiiiiice long walkie down Colorado Boulevard, lots of Airedmiration, and it is really lovely to breathe in this weather!

Then we came back to our favorite cafe, Lovebirds. Mom got the same sandwich she always does, but this time they managed to put waaaay too much mozzarella cheese on it for her taste. Guess who will be the beneficiary of extra-yummy-mozzarella-falling-from-the-sky?

Yum Yum

Then I was getting antsy and wanted to walk some more before the heavy rain started. Mom understood. I know that lots of my doggie friends have snow and rain (and it can be annoying!) but since we have almost none of that here, I get very excited about it.

Behind the Velvet Rope

Today I was actually inside the (ok not velvet, it was vinyl) rope. The humans and I ventured into Old Town Pasadena for a little lunch. It was H-O-T, so I spent most of my time under the table, shading my eyes from the sharp gazes of the public and the harsh rays of the afternoon sun. Am I giving the razzberry to passersby who are not as fortunate as I to be seated at the best table on the patio? Or am I just doing a fancy tongue-shot a la Stanley & Stella?

Then after the meal it was time for a walk - to get those digestive fires going.

Just picking up some messages, then it's time to head back to the Bogie-mobile.

Love,

Bogart
