Dogs 101

(photo courtesy of the fine folks at Animal Planet)

Hey dogs! Animal Planet is going to be starting a brand new series called Dogs 101 this weekend - why am I so excited? Well, because they were smart enough to include the ever-so-fine Airedale Terrier in the lineup for week one!!! This weekend will be the Airedale, French Bulldog, Poodle, Chihuahua, and Labrador Retriever.

This should be GREAT!!! I'm a BIG fan of my Animal Planet. Mama loves it too so she's DEFINITELY going to be watching - I wanted to have a house party, you know, invite over some other doggies for some brewskis and pizza, but since she's going to be here it's going to be a more low-key affair. Probably just me and mama with some kitties walking in and out, maybe a jerky treat or two. Still sounds GREAT!

They have the courage to chase lions, the dignity to sit at the feet of royalty and some say even the smarts to read. They are the best companions of the human race—dogs and cats. This 10-episode series is the most comprehensive look at dogs and cats on television. The first eight episodes explore the most popular dog breeds, from the lovable French bulldog to the heroic Labrador retriever. Two cat episodes follow providing a complete picture of the amazing variety of cat breeds. With over 200 dog breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club, DOGS 101 will spotlight the adorable, the feisty and the unexpected. Does the St. Bernard have a sixth sense for predicting avalanches? Can the Whippet see in the dark? Which breed is still used today as a life guard? DOGS 101 uncovers surprising details about everyone’s favorite dog breeds from the Airedale Terrier to the Yorkie. Learn which dog breeds are best for urban living and which ones are most family friendly. Using a mix of animal experts, the personal stories of pet owners and stylized dog photography, DOGS 101 is an unprecedented look at man’s best friend.

Bogart! We watched that show, but I thought it was kind of dumb. They forgot to mention the jaws of death that Airedale puppies have. I don't know about you, but Grandpa Angus shredded a couch and a carpet and chewed a hole through the wall when he was a teenager.
