Mama's morning didn't start out that well. Morning walkie? Fine. Weather? Slightly raining, but only on her head so that wasn't so bad. We arrived back at our apartment. Mama got ready to go to the work place that I just cannot understand, handed me a treat and walked out.
Then she put her key into the lock to turn it to lock me and the kitties safely inside. And that's when her hand should have stopped turning - except that it didn't. What she described to me later as a "sick pit of the stomach kind of feeling". Since mama hasn't stepped up her upper-body workout routine, it was simply the crunch of her key breaking off in the lock.
This my friends, is what a key looks like without it's business end:
And for comparison, what the key looked like before it's adventure...
Yes, she was able to get it fixed. Luckily (luckily?!?) the locksmith was able to grab the remains of the key from deep inside the lock. Much less fuss that way. But not exactly a great way to start off a day.

Bogart

You are a pretty brave boy!

Glad she could get it fixed - easier and cheaper that way - plus you weren't locked inside! Although - is that a collection of sticks next to you? So I guess no matter the weather you always have a steady supply?

Wow, that's scary...glad to hear that your Mom and the locksmith managed to get it out, otherwise it would have been a nightmare!

Good to hear that the locksmith was able to save the day! I love your look of concentration in the second photo, Bogart!
Good thing you were able to get a locksmith there quickly. That could have been quite a disaster with you on one side and Mama on the other.
Aw geez..thats not a good way to start off a Thursday morning..
But you know what...broken key or no broken key, you still hold the key to your mamma's heart!

Well, first I'm sorry your mommy has to go away to work and leave you and the kitties behind. My mommy has to go away to work and I don't like it either.
I'm super glad however that her was able to get the man to come fix everything.
Hope the rest of your day was better.
Kisses,
Chloe

Oh Buddy, we've been there! Not a broken key, but our momma locked us in the car with the keys in the ignition a few weeks ago. Had to have a towtruck guy come and fish 'em out. It was raining too so the car smelled real purty by the time we were freed. haha. We got special treat for being so patient. Cool. Mom says we help her chill out when such things happen...bet you do the same for your mommy.
